The primary education system in India is very strong as compared to any other country but the higher education system is very weak. The higher education system of India needs to be upgraded. The overall education system of India is unparallel and incomparable as compared to any western country. The discipline, values, culture and ethics which are instilled by India schools in their children are not instilled anywhere else in the world.”

Questioning the topic of the Seminar ‘Strength of Indian Education System vis-à-vis Western Education System’, Dr. Rashmi Krishnan- Director, SCERT said , “as long as Indian education system is not stagnant, it is continuously changed and is ever evolving, the system will retain its strength. In order to ensure that young minds blossom, we have to instill in them scientific temper, ability to question and curiosity to explore new frontiers. Today we are a mixed society with different religions, different languages, different races etc. Openness of mind has become very important. The barriers creating rift between two people needs to be demolished. This is the direction we need to move in.”
