Amity Institute of Telecom Technology & Management organises Annual Techno-Cultural festival Zephyr 2010

Zephyr 2010, the annual Techno - cultural festival of Amity Institute of Telecom Technology & Management was organized by students of AITTM from 8th -10th March 2010. The inaugural session had Mr. Bradwin Niblock, First Secretary & Trade Commissioner - Science & Technology from the Canadian High Commission as the chief guest. He was accompanied by Mr Faisal Baig, Tade Commissioner with the Canadian High Commission and Ms. Monica John. Mr. Baig and Lt. Gen. PD Bhargava, Director General, AITTM unraveled the Zephyr 2010 T-shirt which was designed by Siddharth Govil and Abhimanyu Sirothia of B.Tech. 3rd year of AITTM.

The session started with welcome address by Lt. Gen. PD Bhargava. Mr. Nibloc’s address followed next. Mr. Faisal Baig gave a detailed presentation about the opportunities Canada offers to students, as a destination for higher education.

The presentation was followed by an informative presentation by Col. Amitabh Negi, Publicity & Communication Officer, Additional Directorate for Recruitment, Indian Army about opportunities offered by the armed forces for technical graduates. The presentation titled ‘Life in the Olive Green’ showed various aspects of a career in the armed forces for young men and women.

For 2010 edition of Zephyr, the students of AITTM had lined up an exciting events spread over three days, to stimulate technical, creative, fun, adventure and entertainment . Prominent events were The Big Rubble - the debate competition, Olympia – the Sports Quiz, Eureka – a competition on making a working model, Chaos Theory – the hugely popular LAN gaming event, Carom & Chess, Pictionary, Bhoot Bangla, Kalagraphy, Filmy Chakkar, Slide-On, Mind over Matter – The Brain Teaser contest and outdoor sports among others. The competitions saw participation by student form various Institutes of Amity University who enjoyed the exciting competitions meticulously planned and performed by the students of AITTM.

Like previous years, the main attractions were Mr.& Ms. Zephyr Contest, Ramp-Age – The Fashion show, Groovz – The Choreography Competition and the Live Band performance by Dehak, which saw a huge footfall from various Amity Institutes. Number of Institutes from NCR participated.
