Dr. Rick Levy’s book “The Happiness Sutra” released during the experiential seminar of Psychology
Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences organized Experiential Seminar on “Mind-Body Medicine and the future of Psychology, East and West” at Amity University, Sector-125, Campus
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group graced the occasion with his presence and announced that a three day International Conference of Psychology based on the contents of the book “The Happiness Sutra” by Dr. Rick Levy will be organized in the Noida campus of Amity University.

Prof. Abha Singh, Director, Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences while addressing the august gathering said that one can learn to use the power of one’s mind by practicing scientific meditation which is a gift of God and help the society in a great way for attaining world peace.Psychology and behavioral science can change the world for better. We can become creators of circumstances rather than creatures of circumstances.
While speaking about his book “The Happiness Sutra”
Dr. Rick Levy, Clinical Psychologist said that he has elaborately discussed ways to live a heroic life free of stress wherein three things are to be strictly followed, that is, to maintain a right attitude, to gain freedom of self which means free from difficulties of life and claim one’s own power which mean infinite power. As the purpose we are here on this world is to live happily and peacefully by understanding the four levels of consciousness in the human mind. Though Scientific Meditation one can attain great heights of self- consciousness. The search for ultimate truth will be fulfilled with various the processes of Scientific Meditation.
Dr. Rick Levy analyzed the four levels of mind. The Conscious mind, Sub- Conscious mind, Individual Sub- Conscious mind and Divine Consciousness. The sub- conscious mind is the store house of memories. It helps in deep self understanding which can be accessed through symbolic thinking. Individual Sub- Conscious mind is hidden behind Sub- Conscious mind. This is the part of mind that sends energy to the body. All of must learn to understand it. Divine Consciousness is connected to single universal power. It represents oneness of mind and touches the cosmic consciousness. The last level has infinite power. This level of mind has meditative power.
According to
Dr. Rick Levy on an average, one can do Scientific Meditation three to four times a day which will make the person work hard and efficiently. It is a procedure which relaxes body and mind. It will help oneself to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically. One has to free oneself from distorted thinking as 50 to 70 percent of the health problems can be solved through free thinking. There are lots of myths regarding hypnosis. But clinical hypnosis is used as treatment for various ailments. It brings greater insights and better understanding of self and the environment around. Health problems come due to stress. Therefore one must learn to manage and control stress. Drive to success and fear of failure are the root cause of stress. It is necessary to go for the Scientific Meditation and the deepest of the dreams will come true.
The lecture was followed by an interactive question – answer session with Dr. Rick Levy. He gave the distinction between pleasure and happiness. He said pleasure is short lived but people still run after it. On the other hand if one learns the process to achieve happiness which gives peace of mind and last forever. As it does not come from materialistic things.
Dr. W. Selvamurthy, Senior Scientist, DRDO, Chief Guest on the occasion addressing the students of Psychology said, “personality development in a holistic way is value based which every educational institution must follow it. The purpose of creation is to evolve self. Stress control and management are to be learnt to bring happiness in our life. It is in our hands to make ourselves happy as happiness is within us. Expression of happiness comes from inside not from the outside world. Meditation is the only process.
