Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences (AIPS) organizes an Academic event on Parent Child Communicative Behaviour- A Psychological perspective
AIPS organized an academic event on the topic “Parent Child Communicative Behaviour- A Psychological perspective”. Mr. Sanjeev Arora, a leading child psychologist from Delhi was the speaker of the day.
The event started with enlightening remarks by
Prof. Abha Singh, Director, AIPS. She emphasized the importance of Child Mental Health and Parenting as a concept in today’s scenario. She also mentioned that AIPS believes in the 3 P’s Prevention, Promotion and Positivity.
Mr. Sanjeev Arora presented an interactive talk on Parent Child Communicative Behaviour. He emphasized on the importance of communication and personal space during the developmental stages of the child. He shared his practical experiences with the students to help them understand the importance of communication as an important tool for parenting. He also mentioned that Psychology prevails in the lives of each and every individual and through AIPS we are undertaking an important job of creating future psychologists. The session concluded by an interactive question answers in relation to child and adolescent issues.
An elocution competition was also organized for the students of AIPS. 8 students participated in the same. Some of the topics were Communication with parents to Possessiveness of parents and ways to handle them. The students were judged on the content and adaptability of the topic.
In the end, the students of M. Phil (Child and Adolescent Psychology) presented a small video presentation consolidating the information presented during the event and leaving the audience with a thought to reflect upon.
