Amity Law School Noida wins 16th Mega Inter-Institutional Sports Meet “Sangathan 2014”

Keeping in view the importance of Sports and the virtues it instills in the players, the Founder’s Day in Amity is celebrated every year in the form of month long Inter-Institutional Sports Meet “Sangathan” wherein thousands of students from all the Amity Campuses across India and abroad compete with each other in almost 45 sports events. The meet concludes on the birthday of Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group with felicitation of winners.

16th Mega Inter-Institutional Sports Meet “Sangathan 2014” concluded today with much fanfare and celebrations at Amity University Campus, Sector- 125, Noida.

Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan-Chairperson, Amity International Schools; Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh; Mr. Aseem Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University Rajasthan along with senior officials of the management of Amity graced the occasion which resembled a “Mini Olympic”.

The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of National Flag followed by National Anthem. Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group received the Guard of Honor from the immaculately coordinated cadets of Amity Indian Military College.
The Sports Captains of various teams carried the Sangathan Mashaal around the Sports Ground and finally lit the Sangathan Khel Jyoti.

Impressive March Past by contingents from Amity International Schools located in Delhi/NCR and different Universities/Campuses of Amity across India and abroad presented a perfect picture of India’s unity in diversity. The Contingent from Amity School of Business was declared the Best Marching Contingent for their synchronized march past and confidence they exuded while marching.

Presenting a brief overview of “Sangathan 2014”, Prof. (Dr.) Kalpana Sharma- Chairperson, Organizing Committee Sangathan 2014 said that Sangathan 2014 witnessed humungous and exemplary participation by students from all National and International Campuses. She remarked that Sangathan 2014 provided a platform to students for making new friends and learn virtues such as team spirit, healthy competition etc. She shared that during the month long Meet, there were over 20 Sports events organized for boys and girls and 8 Sports events were organized for faculty and staff at different venues. Out of 30 teams, 19 teams have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. She shared that as per the announcement made by Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University during the inauguration of Sangathan 2014 , 10 boys and 11 girls have been identified during Sangathan 2014 who have shown remarkable talent in various Sports and will be awarded Scholarships based on their performance.

Sharing his views and releasing the Souvenir of “Sangathan 2014”, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Groupexpressed his joy and contentment over the heartwarming participation by all Amitians during Sangathan. He said, “It’s a great day for dreaming ahead, especially looking at the number of Universities and Campuses Amity has opened worldwide within a short span of time.” He announced that very soon, Amity University, Patna and Amity University, Kolkatta would come up with plans afoot to start Amity Campuses in every State of India. He expressed his conviction that Amity students are the best, radiating positivism, dedication, sincerity and determination. Sharing the mantra to have a life abounding with bliss and happiness, Dr. Chauhan encouraged the gathering to develop their complete potential and raise it every minute and every hour; have uncompromising faith in God and try to take care of their health in the pursuit of success.

The month long labor and hard work of the participants finally fructified when they were felicitated with Gold, Silver, Bronze medals and trophies. Amity Law School Noida was declared the Winners of Sangathan 2014 with 16 Gold Medals, 15 Silver Medals and 8 Bronze Medals; Amity School of Engineering and Technology was declared the First Runners Up with 13 Gold Medals, 9 Silver Medals and 10 Bronze Medals.The combined team of Amity School of Architecture and Planning and Amity School of Design was declared Second Runners Up with 8 Gold Medals and 1 Bronze Medal.

The tiny tots of Amiown (Amity’s caring Pre-school) located in Pushp Vihar and Gurgaon presented a colorful performance,regaling one and all. Their cheerful faces, boundless energy and bright smiles endeared them to all.

On the eve of Founder’s Day, students from all National and International Campuses presented colorful dance performances of their respective States depicting beautiful culture and traditions followed in different States of India.
