Quanser Inc, Canada started a five day “Train the Trainers” programme of QUBE™-Servo teaching platform at Amity Campus, Sector- 125, Noida for 41 faculty members from various campuses of Amity located in Noida, Greater Noida, Haryana, Jaipur, Bijwasan and Gwalior.
Quanser, founded in 1989 with its Headquarters in Toronto , Canada, is a world leader in experimental motion platforms for control and mechatronics education and research.
During the training programme, faculty members will be given hands on practice on Quanser’s QUBE™-Servo which is a low cost, teaching platform with fully integrated components, ideal for introducing students to basic control concepts relevant to real world applications of servomotors, from cruise control in automobiles to high-precision robotics manipulators used in industry. The trainers after the five day programme, would acquire the capacity to teach Quanser methods and systems to other faculty members. Students taught by these trainers would have extensive hands on experience and would thus, be industry ready even before they step outside the portals of college.
Mr. Paul Gilbert- President & CEO, Quanser Inc.;Mr. Keith Blanchet, Director (International Marketing) Quanser and Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group inaugurated the Programme.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Paul Gilbert- President & CEO, Quanser Inc praised Amity for not just providing education to the students but teaching them the philosophy of life. He briefed audience that Quanser is the world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced systems for real-time control design and implementation used in education, research and industry. He shared that today over 2,500 universities and research institutions around the world rely on Quanser solutions to expand the state of knowledge in critical research areas and to help them educate and graduate a new generation of engineeringleaders. He outlined that Quanser could help India to become a manufacturing hub by nurturing Engineers who could design products to fulfil the needs and gradually, cater to the entire world.

About Quanser’s Qube Rotary Servo (Qube)
It is an integrated DC Servomotor experimental platform which is used in illuminating control concepts in an easy to use and intuitive platform. It consists of brushed DC motor with optical encoder position feedback, an amplifier and data acquisition electronics. The Qube is interfaced to MATLAB/Simulink based control software. Experimental loads, an inertia wheel and a sensed angle pendulum module can be connected to the output shaft of the motor, via a tool-less quick connect interface. Hence, Qube is a turnkey solution that comes complete with all components to enhance the control course and provides a platform from introductory to advanced level concepts.
It today’s ever automated and mechanised world, control engineering has become a multi-disciplinary subject and finds application in all fields of science and engineering. The role of servo motors is thus ubiquitous. They are used for a myriad of applications from the electric and hybrid vehicle power trains to camera auto focus and in antenna positioning, wood working, material handling, medical equipments, aero-planes, missiles, satellite control, robotics etc etc. The automation so achieved with control engineering tools will benefit the mankind in achieving economy of operations, quality of end product, reduced dependence on manpower, lower scrap rate besides benefits of comfort.
