Nature through the lens of a Medico- Photography exhibition inaugurated by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder, Amity Group

The click of a button has resulted in remarkable capturing of nature, which has been presented in the form of a photo exhibition titled “Elements and Colours” by Dr. Kanwar Manjeet Singh, a world renowned medical professional and a senior consultant with Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals held at Lalit Kala Academy.

Dr. Kanwar Manjeet Singh is impeccable when it comes to “writing on light”. He possesses a unique talent of nature photography, which is beautifully and amazingly reflected in his artistic renderings.

Dr. Ashok K Chauhan - Founder President, Amity Group inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of eminent personalities including Ms. Suneeta Reddy- MD, Apollo Hospitals Group, Mr. Keshav Malik- Art Critic, Mr. Raghu Rai- Photojournalist, Mr. Vijay Chopra- Chairman, Punjab Kesari Group and Chairman, PTI and Dr. P Lal- Chairman Metro Group of Hospitals.

While applauding the creativity of Dr. Singh, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder, Amity Group said that Dr. Singh handles the camera lens with the same precision as he diagnoses and treats the patients. His awe- inspiring masterpieces are therapeutic and not only give unparallel joy to the viewers but also soothe their mind, body and soul. Through the combination of his medical competence with the exceptional photographic finesse, he has given birth to a new revolution which is beyond any comparison.

The exhibition, featuring his masterpiece collection of photographs, will be on till June 7, 2010 daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

About Dr. Kanwar Manjeet Singh

Dr. M.S. Kanwar is a well known name in the field of Respiratory Medicine, Critical Care and sleep Medicine who has been associated with Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, as a Senior Consultant since 1995. His pioneering work in Sleep Medicine is widely recognized in India by his peers, students and patients. His frequent appearances on TV and news media has helped promote awareness of sleep disorders in the country in a big way in the past 15 years.

He is known to be a perfectionist and his own worst critic. That is how he has been able to delight the viewers when his stunning photographic art works were put on display at the Lalit Kala Academy at his ongoing exhibition which will last till 7th June. Formerly, an NRI doctor, his photographic works worth exhibiting runs into several thousands compiled over past 27 years and have been taken all around the world with such intellectual creativity, vision and mesmerizing perfection that one wants to spend several minutes before each of the photographs to absorb its effect, only seeing is believing. It seems he is trying to teach us peace and tranquility through a great soothing effect of his works that only a physician can understand. It appears to be the birth of a combination of a rare and exceptional photographic and medical talent. We have learnt that he was actually coaxed to show his works to the world. He is fully possessed of the meaning of imagination which opens our eyes to the fantastic beauty of nature around us. His images on ‘Mysteries of Fuzzy Logic’ are really mystifying and appear more like beautiful creations of an artist with a brush on canvas. What an incredible work of art. It appears that a legend is born in the world of photography. We would be eager to see more of his works in future.
