Prof. Savita Ravindra delivers lecture at Amity Institute of Physiotherapy

Amity Institute of Physiotherapy (AIPT) organized a lecture for the physiotherapy students & its faculty members, delivered by Prof. Savita Ravindra at Amity Campus, Sector - 44 on January 7, 2010 on Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. Prof.Savita Ravindra is Chairperson of Asia West Pacific region of World Confederation for Physiotherapy (WCPT), Asian Representative in International Society of Educators in Physiotherapy and Professor & Head of Physiotherapy Department of M.S.Ramaiah Medical College & Teaching Hospital, Bangalore.

Prof.Savita Ravindra gave a detailed presentation about the journey of cardiac rehabilitation starting from 1950 and its impact on various countries based on their developmental stages. She emphasized on having a crystal clear concept of surface anatomy in order to reach to the exact organ while administering the exercises. She also described the effect of various drugs on patients heart and its importance while prescribing the exercises.

She also emphasized on the importance of evidence based practice and changing trends in all aspects of health care & advised to be updatd by referring to latest researches and work done by prestigious institutions.

The faculty and students appreciated the lecture delivered by her and interacted with her at the end of the session.
