Prof. Gerald Gerlach, Technical University Dresden Germany visits Amity University

Prof. Ing. Habil Gerald Gerlach, Technical University Dresden Germany visited Amity University campus, Sector-125 Noida on January 05, 2010.

Prof. Gerald Gerlach was welcomed by Prof. V.K. Jain, Director, Amity Institute of Advanced Research and Studies (Material & Devices)& Dr. Vasuda Bhatia which was followed by visit to AIARS(M&D) Laboratories.

On this occasion Prof. Gerald Gerlach presented a lecture on the topic Solid State Sensors, Materials and Applications He discussed the following topics in details:
• Hydrogel based Piezoresistive Sensors
• Pyroelectric Infrared Sensors
• Polymer based IR Bolometer

Prof. Ing. Habil. G. Gerlach discussed in details the technologies involved in the fabrication of these sensors, materials aspect, and applications. He also discussed the possible areas of collaborations with the Director and faculty members of AIARS.

Prof. V.K. Jain, Director, Amity Institute of Advanced Research and Studies (Material & Devices), Prof. R.P. Singh, Director, Amity Institute of Nanotechnology, faculty members of Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity Institute of Microbial Technology, Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity Institute of Nanotechnology, Amity Institute of Advanced Research and Studies (Material & Devices) attended the lecture session.

Prof. Gerald Gerlach is heading the Electrical Engineering Department and is also the Associate Dean at the Technical University Dresden Germany. He is also the Chairman of Euro Sensors Conferences for past many years.
