Delegation from Aldebaran Robotics, France Visits Amity University
A delegationfrom Aldebaran Robotics, France visited Amity University, Sector 125, for thedemonstration of the potential use of Aldebaran Robots of their use in Researchand Academics.
The delegation comprised of Mr. Alix Chen (Aldebaran, Sales Manager forAsia), Mr. M Frederic Lafforgue (Langlois, Export Manger) and Mr. AlexandrePommier (Trade Officer ICT & Service Dept).
Thedelegation was welcomed by Dr. WSelvamurthy, President – Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation andDr. Ravi Prakash, Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology.
AldebaranRobotics is currently engaged in developing several robotic model includingautonomous programmable humanoid Robot named “NAO” intended for Labs anduniversities to serve as a platform for research.
Duringthe visit, the team discussed on the possibilities of collaboration for organizingworkshops and Robotic competitions to create awareness amongst students and showcaseda live demonstration of the robot, NAO, displaying his capabilities such asobject and voice recognition, sound detection and localization, and movementsthrough the control of sensors and HD cameras. The highlight was hisperformance of "Thriller" dancing and a Tai-chi routine.
Thesession was attended by the Officials, Faculty and Staff of Amity University.
