Amity Business School organises two day International Management Research Conference on the theme "Culture, values, mindsets, gender & strategy: a need for repositioning Strategic Human Research Management
Faculty Management of Studies, Amity University, Noida is organizing a two day International Management Research Conference on the theme "Culture, values, mindsets, gender & strategy: a need for repositioning SHRM- Strategic Human Research Management to deliberate on the issues of ever-evolving work culture and how to 'integrate' the Management Practices and Philosophy into the business strategy and how to 'adapt' the HRM at all levels of the organization.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. UD Choubey, Director General, SCOPE amongst the galaxy of academecians, research scholars, faculty and students.
The international research conference received more than 100 research papers from the academicians, researchers and organizational psychologists from around the world.
Welcoming the participants to the conference, Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Ph.D Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Amity University, said, that “ it is the first International Management Research Conference in Amity wherein more than 100 research papers has been received, out of which 70 abstracts are included in the print.” He added that such conferences provide an opportunity to redefine the paradigms and research on the strategic human resource management and append to the academics.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. U D Choubey said that the areas mentioned in the theme are highly elaborated subjects which require long descriptions. But these areas can be summed in one element, i.e, Leader and Leadership which is essential requirement for any organization to grow and prosperous. Sharing his views on Culture, he said that it is the shared values in form of beliefs, rituals, customs etc. which are prevailing in the mindset of the people in the long term. Shared values consist of integrity, responsibility, mutual respect, trust etc. which reflect a brand culture. Therefore, It is important to nurture them on daily basis and imbibe like the bible.
During the inauguration, a book featuring the abstracts of the research papers were released.
The inauguration was followed by Plenary Sessions wherein eminent leaders including Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University; Mr. Ankush Johar, MD, Lloyd Ventures; Mr. Vivek Seigell, Senior Secretary, PHD Chamber; Mr. Sanjeev Varma ,Chief Executive Officer - Steria India Ltd; Mr. Rajeev Bajaj, CFO, Panasonic; Mr. Rakesh Seth -Senior Vice president Corporate HR, Fedders Lloyd and Mr. Ajeet Chauhan, Director HR, Spice Global shared their experience om the strategies of HRM.
Prof. ( Dr.) Balvinder Shukla said that in today’s scenario, culture, values, mindset, gender and strategy; every aspect has become the issues of paramount importance in the organization. She expressed her thoughts on Values, saying that the values are those with which you live and not the ones that are written on walls or mentioned in text books. The individual has to be responsible and they develop the values from the society they have lived or the environment they have grown. The values don’t change when a person changes the organization so it’s the task of the HR to sync the values of the person with that of the organization, opined Dr. Shukla.
Stating the importance of HR Dept., Mr. Vivek Seigell said that HR field has dramatically changed in the last few years. The emerging role of HR is formulation and implementation of strategy. He further added that it is important for the HR strategies to be in sync with the corporate strategies and HR should focus on the hiring of the people who have a passion for work, whereas the culture, values, strategy etc, could be easily instilled in them.
The conference would be concluded on the valedictory session on May 16th, 2014 and attended by the hundreds of participants.
