68th Independence Day celebrated with great fervor and patriotism at Amity University
Thousands of students at Amity University celebrated 68th Independence Day with great joy, exuberance, fervor and patriotic spirit at University Campus, Sector-125, Noida
Students and faculty members clad in tri-color clothes and accessories presented a perfect picture of India where every Indian regardless of religion, class, creed or race celebrates the freedom achieved by the country way back in 1947 through the consistent efforts and sterling spirit of our great freedom fighters.
The event commenced with the Flag Hoisting by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President – Amity Group, Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh and Dr. (Mrs.) B Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University followed by singing of Nation Anthem.
Wishing a very happy Independence Day to Amity fraternity Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President – Amity Group said that today is special day for all us. The whole world is eyeing to us and our country is ready to lead the world. The great leaders of our country like Vivekanand, Arvind, Mahatma Gandhi are remembered for centuries because they have shown our country a path. Dr Chauhan said that each of our citizens have power to change the country. Showing the path for development of the country, Dr. Chauhan announced five programs which Amity would commence and achieve by the next year:
1. Establishment of Amity Youth Force with an aim to have 10 lakh members in coming years.
2. Announcing the current year as year of Human Values from August 15, 2014 to August 15, 2015
3. Establishment of project called Amity Foundation for Public Private Partnership (PPP)
4. Establishment of Amity Skill Development Foundation
5. Creating a culture that each Amitian should be happy & satisfied with an aim of nation building.
Dr. Ashok K Chauhan urged all Amitians to pledge to work for the development of the country and society.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh said that there is no greater happiness than celebrating Independence Day with all the family members of Amity. He stressed that although India received its glorious freedom 67 years ago but economically it still have to become free and exercise its full power and might. Mr. Atul Chauhan called upon the students realize their innate strength and contribute to the nation building, making India a “Super Power” in the world.
Sharing her views on the auspicious day, Dr. (Mrs.) B Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University said that it is a great day for the nation which reminds one of the great martyrs who laid down their lives to free India from the shackles of British Raj. She called upon the young brigade of India to take the reins in their hands with the responsibility to become responsible, dedicated, honest and sincere citizens of the country and lead it in the globalised world.
Remembering our martyrs, Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Vivekanand, students showcased their talent through short skits, songs, monologues and cultural programs. Various bands and musical performances were also performed by the students and the celebrations concluded with recognition of ‘Best Dress Performers’ for the occasion and Vandematram song.
