Delegation from University of Birmingham, UK visits Amity University
It was a memorable day for Amity University, Uttar Pradesh when Professor Adam Tickell, Provost and Vice Principal, University of Birmingham, UK visited the Campus and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University to foster and strengthen the mutual relationship and facilitate the exchange of expertise leading to academic development of the students and staff of both the Universities.
Professor Adam Tickell was accompanied by Ms. Marilyn Miles, Head of International Development and Ms Aparajita Kalra,- Regional Manager, India and were welcomed by Prof (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Amity Group Addl VC along with Directors and Institutional Heads of the University
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Prof (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Amity Group Addl Vice Chancellor and Professor Adam Tickell, Provost and Vice Principal, University of Birmingham, UK.
The MoU will facilitate joint Research programmes, Seminars, Workshops and Trainings in the area of Engineering, Management, Sports Management and Physical Education, along with Exchange of Academic information, Faculty members, students and study programs. It will include training of and visits by faculty members of both the Universities, Internship programmes for the students and Faculty Development Programmes in the areas of mutual interests.
Expressing his gratitude and admiration of the association, Professor Adam Tickell stressed that Amity University has proved its excellence worldwide. He briefed the audience that University of Birmingham, UK was established in 1900 and since then, the University has been catering to the educational needs of the students of various nationalities. The University is ranked at second position for the vast bouquet of programmes offered and just like Amity, University of Birmingham is also dedicated to Research and Innovation. He expressed his hope that the association between both the Universities would be meaningful, providing a forum for building mutual relationship and friendship between both the countries.
Welcoming the alliance, Prof (Dr.) Gurinder Singh said that the collaboration is going to be rewarding for both the universities and in fact, for both the countries since Amity University and University of Birmingham stand for unparallel excellence in respective areas. He outlined that Amity University stresses on the holistic development of the students; they are groomed to become competent professionals and good human beings. The endeavor is to make Amity students globally completely and sought after and the association between both the Universities would immensely benefit the students of both the countries and would apprise them with cross cultural work milieu. He also suggested that students of University of Birmingham can become a part of Amity Innovation Incubator, which would extend all kinds of support to the deserving students.
