Delegation from Queen Mary University of London, UK visits Amity University
A high level seven member delegation from Queen Mary University of London, UK visited Amity University to discuss potential areas of mutual cooperation between Queen Mary University and Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.
Delegation lead by Mr. Lee Wildman, Acting Head of International Student Recruitment comprised of Ms. Harriet Howse – International Partnerships Development Officer, Dr. Steve Dunn – Reader in Nanoscale Materials/Director of Admissions, School of Engineering, and Material Science, Dr. Tony Stockman – Senior Lecturer, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Dr. Himadri Gupta – Senior Lecturer in Biomaterials, School of Engineering and Material Science, Ms. Rupal Vaja – Teaching Services Manager, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Ms. Jaspreet Kaur – Regional Advisor.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Gurinder Singh, Amity Group Addl. Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Ravi Prakash, Prof. & Director – Amity School of Engineering, Dr. V.K. Jain, Distinguished Scientist &Professor AIRAE & AIARS(M&D)and Wg. Cdr SK Goel, VP-RBEF & Dy Dir- IAD
Various potential areas of mutual cooperation were discussed during the discussions between the delegation members and Amity Officials including collaboration in the area of Engineering, Material Sciences, Nano Technology, facilitating research interests by guiding research scholars & doctoral students of both universities.
Mr. Lee Wildman, Acting Head of International Student Recruitment said that the delegation is impressed with the infrastructure of Amity University. Mr. Wildman said that they were looking for collaborative partners in India and Amity University will be key partner for Queen Mary University. Mr. Wildman stated that they will initially move forward with collaboration in science & engineering courses followed by Management and Law.
Ms. Harriet Howse – International Partnerships Development Officer said that they want to extend partnerships with emerging economies of world and India is part of it. Ms. Howse informed that they have already successfully running dual degree program in Beijing, China and would like to develop same model with Amity also.
Dr. Steve Dunn – Reader in Nanoscale Materials/Director of Admissions, School of Engineering, and Material Science said that they are keen on student and faculty exchange program, joint PhD programs, joint seminars etc
The delegation was taken around the Campus and shown state of the art Amity Innovation Incubator, Amity Online Education, Laboratories, well stacked Central Library and other infrastructure.
