Advocate Abhay Sahay, Advocate on Record, Supreme Court of India visits Amity Law School Centre II to deliver a lecture on Criminal Law Amendment Act

Advocate Abhay Sahay, Advocate on Record, Supreme Court of India visited the department of Amity Law School Centre II to deliver a lecture on Criminal Law Amendment Act. Prof. Mamta Srivastava, Addl. Director, ALS Centre II and other faculty members welcomed the guest.

 

This lecture was focused on apprising the students of the recent amendments in Criminal Law Amendment Act. The advocate discussed the amendments section wise with clauses, consequences, circumstances and punishments. He talked about the non-disclosure of the names of victims in rape cases. In response to the audience questions, there occurred a long discussion on the use and misuse of section 498 of IPC. The speaker also sensitized the audience on acid attack, ban on the sale of acid.

 

After the talk, Prof. Mamta Srivastava, Addl. Director, Amity Law School Centre -II felicitated the distinguished guest by presenting a memento and requested him to visit the department again for another talk.
