Delegation from Northumbria University, UK visits Amity University
A delegation from Northumbria University, one of the largest UK University, visited Amity University to discuss potential collaboration in various academic programmes.
The delegation comprised of Prof. Paul Croney, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International Development), Mr. Chris Reily, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Robert Carthy, Director of International Development, Prof. Ceridwyn Bessant, Associate Dean, Ms. Padmini Parameswaran, Region Director- South Asia (Admission and collaborations) and Mr. Atul Sohni, Deputy Regional Director- South Asia.
Welcoming the delegates, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Amity Group Additional VC, briefed them about the historical background of the University, its academic programs programmes, facilities, achievements, patents filed by researchers and scientists, and accreditations etc. of Amity University. He said that Amity believes in global associations for providing global exposure and international learning to the students. At Amity, such globalized students are called “Explorers” who, with the comprehensive education, achieve great success in their career.
During the visit, various collaborative options were mooted including of Semester Abroad, Twinning Programs, Faculty Exchange and Development Program and training and consultancy etc.
Before the commencement of discussion, the delegation was given a tour of the University where they visited the Amity University Online, Amity Incubator, Central Library and H-Block Plaza. The delegates were impressed by the contemporary infrastructure and appreciated the hard-work put in by faculty members & staff, hoping for a mutually beneficial relationship between the respective institutes.
