Amity School of Communications ties up with Bournemouth University, UK for “Project India”

Amity School of Communications has entered into a tie up with Bournemouth University, UK regarding an International Project titled "Project India" which involves two months journalism initiative that aims to produce news coverage of the 2014 Parliamentary Elections.

“Project India” is a collaborative journalism initiative led by Bournemouth University, England. Powered by reportage from journalism student teams (and the occasional staff member) in India and England, Bournemouth University, UK aims to offer an alternate take on the 2014 Indian Elections.

The focus of the project will be the voices not always picked up by the media-The non-newsmakers and how alternate media can empower the marginalized.

Under the Project, Amity students will file election related news stories that would be put up on the website that is being developed by BU. The students will also get bylines and get exposure in working in a news environment.

BU is a reputed university and was a finalist for two of the most coveted prizes in UK higher education – the 2009 Times Higher Education (THE) Awards for "University of the Year" and "Research Project of the Year".
