Amity School of Insurance, Banking and Actuarial Science organises Seminar on “Employee Benefit Schemes”

Amity School of Insurance, Banking and Actuarial Science (ASIBAS) in association with Life Insurance Corporation of India organized a Seminar on “Employee Benefit Schemes” at Amity Campus, Sector- 125, Noida.

Mrs. Arvinder Sidhu- RM (P&GS), LIC of India, North Central Zone, LIC of India, Kanpur, Mr. K S Giridhar – Secretary (P& GS), LIC of India, Mr. Manish K Srivastava – Head, ASIBAS and Prof. R R Grover- Advisor, ASIBAS inaugurated the Seminar.

Welcoming the august gathering, Prof. R R Grover- Advisor, Amity School of Insurance, Banking and Actuarial Science (ASIBAS) said that ASIBAS regularly organizes Seminars and Conferences to apprise students with the working of various Insurance Sector companies and various schemes floated by them. He stressed that Insurance companies and their work culture is undergoing a drastic change in the present era, therefore, it has become imperative to train students accordingly. He outlined various achievements of ASIBAS and Amity University during the occasion

Addressing the students, Mrs. Arvinder Sidhu- RM (P&GS), LIC of India, North Central Zone said that the Seminar aims to familiarize students with various Employee Benefit Schemes and Group Schemes floated by LIC. She informed that LIC offers a variety of insurance products to its customers such as insurance plans, pension plans, unit-linked plans, special plans and group schemes. She remarked that, at present, over 23 big companies are part of Indian Insurance sector and despite of Indian Government opening up the Insurance Sector for private companies, LIC is still the most preferred choice and 84 % of Indian insurance sector is dominated by LIC. Leaving aside few nationalized banks, Employee Benefit Schemes of almost all nationalized banks are provided by LIC because LIC offers the best returns. She stressed that under Group Schemes, LIC has an accumulated fund worth 2.5 lakh crores. She called upon the students to learn the most out of such Seminars which will update them with current industry trends.

The inauguration was followed by technical sessions on “Group Superannuation Scheme- a global overview” by Ms. Kavita Singh Sehrawat- Mercer India Pvt. Ltd,; “Funded Group Schemes” by Mr. K S Giridhar – Secretary (P& GS), LIC of India, “Group Schemes” by Shri J S Chauhan- DM (P&GS), Kanpur, LIC of India.
