Amity University in collaboration with DGFT, Ministry of Commerce conducts seminar on “Niryat Bandhu Scheme”

Amity University in collaboration with DGFT, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India has successfully conducted a seminar on “Niryat Bandhu Scheme” (Initiative for mentoring first generation entrepreneurs in foreign trade) on 21st March 2014 in F3 Seminar Hall. The session was attended by approximately 120 students and faculty members of ASET, AIP and ASFT. The session was graced by eminent speakers from Ministry of Commerce. Dr. Ravi Prakash, Dean FET and Director ASET welcomed the honorable guests.

Mr. Sumeet Jerath was the keynote speaker who introduced the students to Niryat Bandhu and provided much required enlightenment on the market situation and need to be smart entrepreneurs. Dr. Amiya Chandra gave an intellectual session on foreign trade. He informed us about how the scheme would function in the mentoring arena and would be a handholding experiment for the young turks in international business enterprises. Ms. Tanu Singh shared her knowledge on exporting opportunities in Textile Sector. She profoundly explained the SWOT analysis for textile sector. She imbibed factual information that the Indian Textile Industry has an overwhelming presence in the economic life of the country. Apart from providing one of the basic necessities of life, the textile industry also plays a vital role through its contribution to industrial output, employment generation, and the export earnings of the country.

Mr. Rajiv Soni presented an overview of handicraft sector. He explained how the EPCH protects the interests of artisans and how EPCH provides employment to people from the weaker sections of society. Dr. Sukhbir Singh invested his time and knowledge and highlighted on the scope, development of pharmaceutical sector and Brand India Equity Foundation.  Mr. Gagandeep Singh provided the much needed analysis of exporting opportunities to Asian Countries.

It was the much needed session that imbibed all the knowledge and provided us the awareness and a direction towards the legitimate way in Business Entrepreneurship field. The session ended up with vote of thanks given by Dr. K.M.Soni, Deputy Director, ASET.
