Delegation from Sheffield University, UK visits Amity University
Dr. Lisa Reidy, Principal Lecturer Psychology and Dr. Craig Paterson, Principal lecturer in Law and Criminology from Sheffield University, UK visited Amity University to explore collaborative possibilities in Psychology and Law.
The delegation was welcomed by Wg. Cdr SK Goel, VP-RBEF & Deputy Director- International Affairs Department – Amity University
Various potential areas of mutual cooperation were discussed during the discussions between the delegation members and Amity Officials including collaboration in the area of Global Laws, Developmental Psychology, Criminology etc. Possibilities of joint research program, joint seminars, joint moot court competitions, student exchange, faculty exchange, guiding research scholars & doctoral students of both universities were also discussed.
During their visit, Dr. Lisa Reidy, Principal Lecturer Psychology addressed the selected students of Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences on developmental psychology. Dr. Reidy talked about Autism and its early diagnosis. She said that early checks for autism may start from 18 months of age by using various techniques like autism diagnostic interview, psychological testing etc.
Dr. Craig Paterson, Principal lecturer in Law and Criminology addressed the selected students of Amity Law School on Criminology. Dr. Paterson emphasized on the pattern of young criminals and said that people in young age influenced easily to commit crime by seeing some one close from family or friends. He said that it is responsibility of society to stop criminals doing low level offence so to prevent high level offence.
The delegation was taken around the Campus and shown state of the art Amity Innovation Incubator, Amity Online Education, Laboratories, well stacked Central Library and other infrastructure.
