Ten Member Delegation from Saskatchewan University, Canada visits Amity University to discuss potential areas of mutual cooperation

A high level ten member delegation from Saskatchewan University, Canada from different disciplines visited Amity University to discuss potential areas of mutual cooperation between educational institutions of Saskatchewan University and Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.

Delegation comprised of Prof. Smith Peta Bonham, Professor of Biology and Vice Dean of Science, Prof. Dahl Alexis - Director of the programs Office, Prof. Sabrina Kehoe, Associate Director- Interdisciplinary Centre for Culture and Creativity, Prof. Veronika Makarova - Associate Professor of Linguistics and Head of the Department of Religion and Culture, Prof. Braj Sinha,  Professor of Religious Studies - Department of Religion and Culture, Prof. David Parkinson, Professor of English and Vice-Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts, Prof. Eric Dayton, Professor and Head of Philosophy, Prof. Lisa Vargo, Professor and Head of English, Prof. Chary Rangacharyulu,  Professor and Head of Physics and Engineering Physics and Prof. Raj Srinivasan, Professor and Head of Mathematics and Statistics.

The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Gurinder Singh, Addl. Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Group  Dr. W Selvamurthy, President – Amity Science Technology & Innovation Foundation, Prof. Sunil Saran, Sr. Vice Chairman – ASTIF, Prof. Sitaraman, Advisor, ACGC and Shri Maj. Gen Dhawan, Advisor, International Affairs Department.

Various potential areas of mutual cooperation were discussed during the discussions between Delegation Members and Amity Officials including collaboration in the area of Sciences, Social Sciences, humanities, fine arts, facilitating research interests by guiding research scholars & doctoral students of both universities.

Prof. David Parkinson, Professor of English and Vice-Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts said that the delegation is impressed with the infrastructure and with the linkages of Amity with international universities. Prof. Parkinson said that Amity is not only nurtures talent but also nurtures partnerships. He said that Saskatchewan University is interested to understand the Indian culture of education and to collaborate with Amity University. Prof. Parkinson informed that their university is doing research work in water science, mining, nuclear medicine, nuclear health. Their university has around 200 Indian students studying different courses.

The delegation was taken around the Campus and shown state of the art Amity Innovation Incubator, Amity Online Education, Laboratories, well stacked Central Library and other infrastructure.
