Amitasha students meet Smt. Krishna Tirath, Minister of Women and Child Development
Amitasha, Noida and Saket students of classes X and XI met Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Krishna Tirath on October, 1 at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi.
Students gifted Smt. Krishna Tirath with beautiful handmade greeting cards and paintings made by them. They also shared with her their experience of being a part of the film making workshop and making short films on social subjects like anti-ragging and empowerment of the girl child. Students presented the Minister with a DVD of the short films which they have made. Their short films Raahein, Pehla Kadam and Sapno Ki Udaan are also available on Youtube at the following links.

Smt. Tirath interacted with students on various sensitive issues like the ill effects of dowry system, importance of nurturing the girl child and safety of girls. It was a thought provoking interaction and motivated the students to become change agents in future.
The minister also appreciated the talent of students and lauded the Amitasha initiative engineered by Respected Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools.
Amitasha is a philanthropic project of Amity Humanity Foundation initiated under the vision of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools to ameliorate the condition of underprivileged girl children by providing them free education, uniform, books, meals and health care facilities.
