Delegation from CA Technologies visits Amity University to explore potential areas of mutual cooperation

A delegation comprising of senior officials from CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) visited Amity University, Sector- 125, Noida to mull over the potential areas of mutual cooperation.

Prof.(Dr.) Ravi Prakash, Professor & Director, Amity School of Engineering andTechnology and Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Rana, Director, Amity Technical Placement Celland Amity School of Engineering welcomed the delegation.

Taking about the growing demand of Cyber Security Professionals in the industry,Mr. Alpesh Patel Vice President, Education Services said that Cyber Security Professionals are required in all industry segments, their demand is 3.5 times faster than other IT jobs.  India needs 500,000 security professionals by 2015. Talking about the potential areas of collaboration, Mr.Patel suggested the possibility of joint Degree, Diploma and Short Term Security courses, Dedicated Centre of Excellence at Amity housing the best CA Security tools and 300 hours of CA’s Award winning Security Courseware.

Giving a presentation on cyber security issues, Mr. Sumanth M Venkat, Sr. Solution Sales Leader- Asia Pacific Japan said that insider attacks account for as much as 80% of all computer and internet related crimes. Majority of users are privileged users and majority of attacks are launched from remote machines and most of the attacks are because of the weak authentication ie passwords. He stressed that most of the common motives behind security attack are Profit,Subversion, Personal Motive and Provoke Change. Mr. Sumanth shared the comprehensive portfolio offered by CA technologies to entities which helps them in warding off cyber security related threats.

The senior members of the delegation, subsequently, interacted with Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group, Mr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh and Dr. Balvinder Shukla- Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University and discussed at length the collaborative options between Amity and CA Technologies.
