Amity School of Rural Management organises Workshop on Empowerment of Rural Women
Amity School of Rural Management organised Three day Workshop on Empowerment of Rural Women from July 28-30, 2010 at F-Block MDP Room.
Dr. Sarala Gopalan, IAS (Retd.), Former Secretary to Government of India in the Ministry of Woman and Child Development was present during the valedictory session. An international expert on gender issues Dr. Gopalan was also a consultant to UNIFEM, UNICEF, UNDP, WHO, ILO, WB and ADB. While addressing the gathering Dr. Gopalan said that empowerment of rural women is of utmost important beacuse one empowered woman can change the whole family and community.
Mr. S.P. Jakhanwal, IAS (Retd.), Director General, ASUM/ASRUM, Sr. Exec. Vice President, RBEF, Dr. P.C. Sabharwal, Director ASRM were also present during the occasion.
Around 45 participants from NGOs, students, faculty of ASRM attened this workshop.
