Dr. Avadhesh C. Sharma delivers lecture at Amity Institute of Pharmacy
Dr. Avadhesh C. Sharma, Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, PCOM-School of Pharmacy, Suwanee, GA, USA visited Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Uttar Pradesh on 21st June, 2010 and delivered a lecture on “Professional Pharmaceutical Research: Objectives, Opportunities and Resources
Dr. Sharma was the PhD mentor of Dr. Mani Chopra, at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Dallas, United States from 2005-2009. She is currently working as a lecturer in Amity Institute of Pharmacy and is involved in the research projects of Masters and PhD students. Dr. Chopra was instrumental in inviting and co-coordinating the meeting with Dr. Sharma at AIP.
Dr. Sharma had an interactive session with students & faculty members of AIP to discuss the importance of Pharmacy as a Profession, both in India and abroad, clearing doubts on finer details on Pharm D program in United States and the essential requirements which are required by the Pharmacy Council of India, PCI to implement Pharm D curriculum to be at par with the International Standards. He mentioned special importance to build up the Hospital Pharmacy in collaboration with the Professional Pharmacy Institutes in India to provide exposure to the students of our country. He provided various suggestions to develop collaborations with other research institutes to hone our Pharmaceutical Research in India.
Later, Dr. D. P. Attrey, Director, AIP and Dr. Deepshikha Pande Katare, Asst. Director, AIP presented a token of gratitude to Dr. Sharma.
