Amity Institute of Corporate Communication organises Workshop on Effective Resume Writing

Amity Institute of Corporate Communication organised a Workshop on Effective Resume Writing at F1 Seminar Hall on October 04, 2012. It was a totally interactive session attended and participated both by faculty and students.

Capt. H.A. Arfi, IAS (Retd.), Director and Head - Amity Institute of English Studies & Research & Amity Institute of Corporate Communication in his welcome speech emphasised on the significance the knowledge of resume writing specific to specific job and its customisation.

Dr VPS Arora, Dean-Academics, Amity University, Noida gave the keynote speech. He highlighted the five most common mistakes which students generally commit while preparing resume and how they could be avoided in his presentation.

Dr Juhi Upmanyu, Assistant Professor III, AICC gave a PowerPoint Presentation on Effective Resume Writing: The first step towards Job Hunt. She specifically pointed out the grey areas where the candidates generally get stuck up. She also stated the difference between a CV and a resume.

Chief guest Ms Sushma Gupta, a Senior HR Consultant, discussed the technique of preparing a resume & discussed the recent trends of resume writing. She focused on the employable skils and people skils which the technical corporations look for. Her corporate experience alone spoke volumes about her training abilities and soft skils.

This was followed by a question answer session. Many questions were put across the industry and the in-house expert which were also correctly answered by giving modern-day examples. The interactive session was highly appreciated by the audience. Capt. H.A. Arfi, HOI, AICC & AIESR appreciated the students for understanding the importance of effective resume writing.

The workshop was attended by 300 Post Graduate students collectively of ASET, AIIT and AIESR. The students were very much inspired by the speakers from AICC who really made a mark addressing the gathering.
