Delegation from Beijing Institute of Technology, China Visits Amity University
Seven member Delegation from Beijing Institute of Technology, China Visited Amity University Campus, Sector-125 Noida on April 20, 2012. The delegation was headed by Prof. Hu Haiyan, President -Beijing Institute of Technology & Member of China Academy of Science. Other members of the delegation were Prof. Hao Zhiqiang, Director, President’s Office - Beijing Institute of Technology, Prof. Wang Ying, Associate Director, International Office, Prof. Yan Dayuan, Vice Dean, School of Software Engineering, Prof. Zhu Donghua, Vice Dean, School of Management and Economics, Prof. Wang Bo, Vice Dean, School of Automation and Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Foreign Expert, International Cooperation.
Delegation was welcomed by Mr. Aseem Chauhan Addl. President, RBEF & Chancellor, Amity University Rajasthan, Maj. Gen K Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Dr. (Mrs.) Balvinder Shukla, Pro VC (A), Amity University and and several HOI’s of Amity University.
Delegation was introduced to various areas of academics where Amity and Beijing Institute of Technology could join hands and collaborate. Emphasis was laid on Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Engineering, Microbial Technology, Aerospace Information Technology, Student/Faculty exchange programs and training programs.
Addressing the huge gathering of students, faculty members, Prof. Hu Haiyan, President -Beijing Institute of Technology said that China is the largest country in higher education. China has over 2000 universities out of which around 1000 are Government Universities and rest are Private Universities. China has over 13 million on campus students. Prof. Haiyan said that India and China have glorious past. Both the countries are important members of BRICS. Prof. Haiyan also appraised that the Beijing Institute of Technology was established in 1940 and is one of the top National University of China. Prof. Haiyan expressed desire to look forward to successful and fruitful collaboration between Beijing Institute of Technology and Amity University.
Mr. Aseem Chauhan Addl. President, RBEF & Chancellor, Amity University Rajasthan while addressing the gathering, mentioned several areas where Amity University would collaborate with Beijing Institute of Technology including joint Doctoral Programs, joint projects with Beijing Institute of Technology. Mr. Chauhan said that very soon we will establish satellite campus of Amity at Beijing Institute of Technology.
During the occasion, a General Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Prof. Hu Haiyan on behalf of Beijing Institute of Technology and Mr. Aseem Chauhan on behalf of Amity University to begin with, in the direction of student exchange, faculty exchange and joint research projects.
Dr. Ajit Verma, Director General – Amity Institute of Microbial Technology, Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Director General – Amity Business School, Dr. R.P. Singh, Director – Amity Institute of Nanotechnology, Prof. K.M. Soni, Deputy Director – Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Dr. A.K. Srivastva, Director General, Amity Institute of Biotechnology were present during the occasion.
