It was a dream come true for students of Amity when internationally renowned Bollywood Singer, Sukhwinder Singh visited Amity University to promote his debut film “Kuchh Kahiye”.

The film Kuchh Kariye deals with the current socio political scenario. It’s a social film dealing with certain contemporary and relevant issues. It’s journey of a man meeting his destiny and coming to terms with his own self.

Sukhwinder Singh was accompanied by Shriya, the lead heroin of the film and Jagbir Dahiya, the Director of the Film.

Swarms of students flocked to the courtyard where Sukhwinder and Shriya interacted with the students, posed with them and signed autographs for them. Students asked a volley of questions to the singer about the movie which were answered very amicably and enthusiastically by him. When asked about his experience while acting in the movie, he citied that he did not sign the movie as an actor or lead actor but as “ Sukhwinder” so the character “Rishi” (a simple and honest musician) he plays in the movie is very much like him and thinks the way Sukhi actually feels in the real life. The students also made him sing some of his famous numbers which included Jay Ho, Chaiyaan Chaiyaan, Chak De India. He said the year Jai ho made history, Indian music got the rare opportunity to be showcased at an International platform.

Being totally impressed with the infrastructure and environment of the University, Sukhwinder Singh, during the interaction, made an important announcement that he would like to perform four times free of cost in Amity University and the funds raised from the sponsorships of those performances will be used for the promotion of Sports Education and Science and Research in the University and also for providing education to more and more children especially those who come from underprivileged sections of the society. He praised the quality education being provided by the University to thousands of students and in the lighter vein expressed a desire to enroll himself in one of the courses provided by the University. He called upon the students to go out and watch his debut movie, which is releasing on Friday April 23 and also motivated them to shake themselves out of state of complacency and slumber and stand against the social evils haunting the country.

He thanked Amity University for inviting the film crew to the campus and applauded the enthusiasm and excitement shown by the students in his debut film.

Talking about the movie, Shriya Narayan who is playing Sukhwinder’s girlfriend role in the movie and seemed quite confident about the success of the movie said that the movie instigates the common people to raise voice against the corruption and terrorism prevailing in the country.
