Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences organises Education Visits to National Institute for Mentally Handicapped, NIMH Model School and National Institute of Hearing Handicapped
Amity Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences, Amity University (U.P.) organized an Educational Visit on 04/10/2013. Thirteen (13) students of B.Ed Special Education (Learning Disability) alongwith 03 faculty members, Ms. Anusuya K. Yadav, Mr. Ravi Prakash Singh and Mr. Naveen Singh have visited National Institute for Mentally Handicapped, NIMH Model School and National Institute of Hearing Handicapped (Regional Centre, New Delhi) to develop an insight and acquaint professional skills related to disability rehabilitation and special education.
The students interacted with Children with Intellectual Disabilities and understood the divergent needs of each special child. Dr.(Mrs) Usha Grover (Officer Incharge, NIMH), Mrs. Vijay Bahl (Senior, Occupational Therapist, NIMH) ), Mrs. Sabri Ghosh (Social Worker, NIMH MSEC) and Mr. Muglesh (Co-Ordinator, Disability Information Line) interacted with the students, explaining the various domains of intellectual disability and demonstrated a case of Children with Intellectual Disability (CWID).
