Next generation organizations have to respond to challenges instantly, if they have to succeed. Indians are the best to handle the dynamism aspect of an organization since, in India, we have a very diverse workforce from various ethnicities and backgrounds. All that needs to be done is assessing and knowing who is best at what”. He shared that when organizations are in the expansion mode, they need employees who can align their personal objectives with the organisation’s objectives which is possible only if the employees are happy and satisfied. He advised students to keep their eyes open, learn from the changes taking place around and pursue the goal of their life with honest intention. He called upon students to take lead, become entrepreneurs, give jobs to other professionals and thereby, contribute to the GDP of the country.

Sharing his views on “How to optimize Human Potential in organizations in globally competitive times”, Mr. Eric P. Rajendran, Group President & Head - HR, CK Birla Group explained, citing examples of great leaders like Winston Churchill, Bill Gates and others, that very often people themselves don’t realize their real potential; its only when the right opportunity knocks, their brilliance is unlocked. Taking about the need for organizations to think global, Mr. Eric P. Rajendran remarked that globalization is mission critical for companies to not only grow but to survive. Global practices be it talent or processes, he opined, is the need of the hour for any successful company today. Companies compete and win in the market based on their competitive advantage which is created through people and systems and processes they create. Organisations, today, spend a lot of time, effort and resources to identify, develop, retain and position their High Potential Talent. Quoting a research done by Mc.Kinsey, the speaker said that if a company wants to be among top 50 growth companies, then you need to have  19- 22% of High Potential (HIPOTS) employees. Suggesting ways to develop HIPOTS in an organization, Mr. Rajendran said that Grab a share of talent, Push for excellence early on, Promote spiky (good at one thing or another)  leaders  and Invest early.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. (Mrs.) B Shukla- Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University said that there is lot of potential available in every organization which needs to tapped effectively and synergized with organizational goals.
