H. E. Lee Joon-Gyu, Ambassador of Republic of Korea in India visits Amity University to mull over potential links between Amity and Korean Educational Institutions

A Delegation from Republic of Korea comprising of H. E. Lee Joon-Gyu, Ambassador of Republic of Korea in India along with five members visited Amity University, Sector- 125, Noida to discuss and deliberate the potential areas of mutual collaboration.

 

The delegation was welcomed by Maj. Gen K J Singh- Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities, Shri R.M. Aggarwal, Addl. DG, Amity Centre for International Cooperation and Alliances, Wg. Cdr S K Goel, Dy. Dir, International Affairs Department (IAD) and other senior members of Amity.

 

Welcoming the distinguished gathering, Maj. Gen K J Singh- Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities apprised them with the wide array of professional programmes offered by Amity University and R& D related activities carried on by the Researchers and Scientists of Amity University. He expressed that Amity University would explore the option of conducting student and faculty exchange programmes and joint research initiatives with Korean educational institutes.

 

Addressing the gathering, H. E. Lee Joon-Gyu, Ambassador of Republic of Korea in India said that Koreans have a great respect and interest in Indian culture and traditions. The R& D in India has always fascinated the Koreans. He stressed that in a globalised economy, no country can prosper in isolation; they have to come together, join hands share resources and work towards a better future. He informed that Korea has lot of Indian origin people and over 15 million Koreans follow Buddhism, which brings India and Korea closer. Taking ahead this relationship, Korean Cultural Centre has been opened up in Delhi to promote Korean culture and tradition in India. He suggested Amity to include Korean language in the bouquet of foreign languages which are offered by Amity to all its students as part of their curriculum. He extended his whole hearted cooperation to promote education ties between Amity and Korean educational institutes.

Also present during the occasion were Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Dean Faculty of Management Studies & Examination, Prof. V P S Arora- Dean Academics, Prof. (Dr.) Alka Munjal, Director, Academics and other Senior Directors and Head of the Institutions of Amity University

 

The delegation was taken around the campus and shown magnificent campus including impressive infrastructure, state of the art laboratories and well stocked Central Library.
