Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences, Noida organises “Programme on Empowering Youth for a National Cause” by Brahmakumaris
Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences, Noida organised a “Programme on Empowering Youth by youth fora National Cause” by Brahmakumaris on 20 September, 2013 at Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The students studying Psychology attended the programme which included a dialogue on the “Role of Youth in Creation of a Glorious India”, experience sharing on issues that plague the Indian youth today and ways to find solutions for the same and skit by young Shantidoot Brahmakumaris.
The program started with a lecture by Sister BK Anusuya who appraised the students about little habitual patterns like sleeping late, waking up, consuming unhealthy food etc that hamper our growth towards being self actualized. She also remarked upon the need to meditate and conserve our positive energies to be able to live healthy. Prof(Dr) Abha Singh, Director, AIPS and Acting Head, AIBHAS in her opening welcome remarks reiterated on the importance of Mediation in today’s times, She termed Meditation as Scientific Gift of God and urged the students to utilize this platform to bring peace within and positive change in self and society at large. Hence, being a medium of a Positive Global Change. Focusing on the role that the youth in a country play , she expressed concern over the dwindling value system and an urgent need to look within and initiate a change for long lasting impact.
Another experiential session with Sister BK Ranjana started with a soul rendering tale of an eagle and a chicken focusing on the idea that all of us have the capacity to be master of our destiny but limit ourselves by being unaware of our capacities. She also mentioned the need to constantly be connected with ourselves at a deep level of consciousness. She said that rather than looking for love, peace and happiness,we must believe that we are Ourselves Peace, Love and Happiness. She spoke about the futility that anger as a habit holds and emphasized on the need to let go of such feelings. She remarked that we all must reclaim our emotional remote control from every other person in the environment and be at peace with ourselves and the world around. She shared with the audience, some ways for spiritual upliftment in the form of positive auto suggestions, “I am a positive, pure, powerful, happy soul. I am in control of my emotions” and urged the students to experiment with the same for 15-20 days to experience internal changes. The team of members also presented a skit mirroring the need for Self Introspection for a healthy living.
The Brahmakumaris spoke about igniting the power within young individuals. They enunciated the fact that “We are all peaceful and powerful beings” who can bring about Positive change in the Society. The programme concluded with a key for happy, positive and healthy living in the e-world era by Brother BK Raghunandan in the form of 4 Es- Enliven yourself, Enlighten yourself, Empower yourself and Enrich yourself.
The Brahmakumaris thanked Prof (Dr) Abha Singh for being the torch bearer of positive change in Amity University and giving them a platform to interact with such a bright and interactive audience.
