The Amity Institutions are an outcome of the dream and vision of the respected Founder President Dr.Ashok K Chauhan and the chairperson Dr.Mrs.Amita Chauhan, who believe that art and culture are the very heart of any society and it is in continuance of this vision that Amity Noida has been hosting Geomaty for the last 10 years.
Geomaty, a festival which celebrates the cultural heritage of different parts of India was inaugurated by Mr. Sudhanshu Sinha, the evaluation manager and regional performance, South Asia, British High Commission, Ms. Jayshree Chauhan and Ms. Renu Singh, Principal - AIS Noida.
Geomaty 2013 incorporated various aspects of social science where competitions were divided into four categories, according to the classes. Drama was held for classes IV and V, Mask painting and Poster making for classes VI and VII. To bring forth the cultural heritage a Tableau making competition depicting the coastal areas of India, was conducted for classes VIII and IX. Geomaty also included knowledge based testing in the form of Quizzes and Map reading and Interpretation for class X. The overall trophy was won by Amity International School, Vasundhara, Sec-6.
The esteemed judges for the event were, Mr. Sudhanshu Sinha, the evaluation manager and regional performance, South Asia, British High Commission and Professor J.N.Kaul, Director of Amity Institutes of Organic Agriculture and the Chief Proctor of AUUP.
Several stalls were also put up by the students, depicting different art forms like nail art, hair braiding, on the spot sketching and mehendi. A counter for potter’s wheel was put up by the NIE group. An ecstatic carnival of music and dance was staged by the students of the choir and dance group of Amity Noida. A Sufi song and a glorious dance depicting Ras Lila were the star attractions of this event.
