Amity Institute of Telecom Technology & Management organises Amity Telecom Vision Board Meeting

Keeping in view the market dynamics ,  fast changing technologies & applications and regulatory environment in  the telecom sector  AITTM organized  Amity Telecom Vision Board Meeting’  on 14th June 2013.

 The Board Meeting was attended by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President – Amity Group; Lt Gen P D Bhargava, Advisor, AITTM & Group Deputy Vice Chancellor, senior members of AITTM  and  thought leaders from Telecom industry. From the industry, board saw Mr. B.D. Khurana – CMD Newgen Holdings , Mr. Sunil Dutt – Former MD  Research in Motion ( Blackberry ) ,  Mr S S. Motial – Founder Director Nova Teleservices and former CMD ITI ,  Mr. Rajesh Agarwal – Co-Founder &  MD Micromax ,  Mr. Satya N Gupta – Chief of Corporate Affairs Sterlite Technologies ,  Mr. Ajay Ranjan Mishra – Chairman Focus Group at ITU , United Nations ,  Mr. Sekhar Sahay – Director HR , Ericsson,  Mr. Vikram Tiwatia – Associate D.G, COAI ,  Mr. Jagdish Mitra – CEO ,Canvas M ,   Mr. Sumit Sardana  - Senior Director Sales – OnMobile,  Mr. T.R. Dua – Senior Director, TAIPA  and Mr  Sanjoy Sarma  VP & CTO  Alcatel Lucent as participants for a brain storming session .

Focus was to understand and discuss :

·         The technology shift taking place in Telecom and its implications.

·         How the B.Tech – E&T and MBA – Telecom Management  course curriculums need to be   modified keeping  (in view changing telecom industry requirements) pace with the changing times in Telecom industry

·         The latest and evolving technologies that should find a definite place in the course curriculums

·         Suggestions for making the internships and projects taken by students in Telecom Organizations, more effective, result oriented and matching with students’ acumen and skills.

·         Industry opinions on how theories that are taught in the class rooms could be substantiated with practical knowledge, live projects and hands-on exposure in the telecom organizations – how industry could facilitate.     

·         Weaknesses noticed by the industry while recruiting freshers from campus and additional skills needed to improve employability.

It was extremely invigorating to witness numerous positive, relevant and practical suggestions pouring in  from the industry captains. It was truly encouraging to note that the industry leaders are ready to step forward and help to make Amity Telecom Courses one of the best in the country.
