Amity School of Engineering and Technology organises one day workshop on ESDM-“Electronic System Design & Manufacturing”

A one day workshop on ESDM-“Electronic System Design & Manufacturing” was organized by Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) in association with Computer Society of India and Department of Electronics & Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & IT, Govt. of India on March 26, 2013.

 

The workshop witnessed truly ingenious speakers from various organizations in the forenoon followed by a field visit of post graduate students to the production house of Mentor Graphics, Noida.

The welcome address was given by Prof. (Dr.) K. M. Soni, Deputy Director and Head, ASET. The theme of the workshop was introduced by Ms. Nitasha Hasteer, Acting Head, IT, ASET.  Dr. Manoj Kulshreshtha Dean, Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology, AUUP addressed the audience and emphasized on the importance of conducting such workshops. Shri Akhilesh Saurikhia, Communications Consultant at Dept. of Electronics & Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India, New Delhi addressed the gathering by highlighting Opportunities and Policy Initiatives in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing Sector.

Mr. Manish Sharma, Head AISG India Product Solution Group of Freescale Semiconductors discussed about the basics of electronic systems and technology and their usage in real life. Mr. Dheeraj Kapoor, Technical Director at Wissen Automations and Mr. Sumen, Director from Wissen Automation emphasized on leading manufacturers and design organizations related to the field and gave various examples and advantages of self employment and entrepreneurship. Mr. D.D Sharma and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar from Pro-Innovation Labs highlighted the emerging technologies, career opportunities in Electronics, Computers and Information Technology. They demonstrated the model and simulation results of the projects related to Irrigation system and Train signaling system.

In the afternoon session, the post graduate students along with faculty members visited Mentor Graphics, Noida for an industrial visit. The students learnt about Volcano Vehicle System Architect (VSA). It is a systems design tool for AUTOSAR-based systems. It enables engineers to design automotive SW and HW architectures and to manage the relationships between the two. At the same time, it provides the user with required support to manage industrial-scale projects with distributed development partners.
