The students, during the two hour Camp, were taught various techniques to save themselves when caught unaware in any unpredictable situation through small self defence techniques drawn from Marshal Arts including Back Fist Defence, Fast Forward Defence etc. Mr. George and his team of trainers gave elaborate demonstrations of the techniques and even students volunteered to show their agility, preparedness to deal with different kind of dummy attacks, initiated by the trainers. Dr. Bedi actively participated in the Camp guiding and mentoring the female students to be strong, nimble and alert while dealing with the men with evil intentions.

During the Camp, all female participants downloaded “Fight Back Application” on their Smart phones. “Fight Back Application” is India's first Mobile Application for Women Safety, developed by Tech Mahindra which, just on the click of the button,  uses GPS, SMS, location maps, GPRS , email and Facebook account to inform the relatives and friends of the female along with her current location.

Sharing her views during the occasion, Former IPS Officer Dr. Kiran Bedi who has made it a mission to equip and empower each and every female of the nation, said that Amity and its management has taken a laudable step in providing such an opportunity to all its female students which would brace them, mentally and physically, to combat the tough situation. She remarked that although different situations demand different response but the techniques taught during the Camp would make them aware and alert since the Camp is just an induction to Self Defence

Motivating the girl students to use their energy levels to the maximum, she stressed that Amity has prepared a critical mass which would create ripples and have cascading effect on the society. Amity has set an example for other Universities to emulate and follow. Doling out ways which could be used to check the rising number of crimes against women, she called upon the parents to make their sons responsible and daughters courageous to defend themselves in any urgency and advised students to keep practicing basic techniques on a daily basis. She encouraged Universities and educational institutes to step forward and organize mass trainings for the females to make them self reliant and design special modules for making men responsible.

Dr. Bedi also appraised students with the various provisions of Domestic Violence Act and in circumstances such as Dowry demand, hurling verbal abuses, not letting a girl meet her parents and family etc, any female can lodge a written complaint in the police station

Acknowledging the vast participation of girl students in the Camp, Dr. Balvinder Shukla- Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University said that this is a small beginning and such camps will be organized at regular intervals in all Amity Universities and campuses. She asserted the need to strengthen the women to be able to fight against injustice.

The two hours of training and Demonstration in open grounds and humid weather could not dampen the spirit and enthusiasm of 5000 female students, who were enriched and empowered to deal with perpetrators.
