Mr. Suhaib Siddiqui and Mr. Ankur Sharma delivered Faculty Development Program on “SAP Ecosystem” at Amity University

Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Amity School of Engineering & Technology organized a Faculty Development Program, delivered by Mr. Suhaib Siddiqui, Manager, Education Services, JKT Consulting Ltd. and Mr. Ankur Sharma, ABAP Consultant, JKT Consulting Ltd. from 30th to 31st May, 2013 at Amity University, Noida. The topic of the FDP was “SAP Ecosystem” which benefited around 52 faculty members from various institutes- ASET, AIIT, and AITM of Amity University Uttar Pradesh.

 

The welcome address and opening remarks was given by Ms. Abha Thakral and FDP was introduced by Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Bansal, Head of the Department, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, AUUP.

 

Mr. Suhaib Siddiqui started the FDP with an introduction to ERP and SAP, on the first day. He cleared that ERP is a concept and SAP is merely a product of it. He explained various architectures on which SAP is implemented and also discussed about who can undergo training and procedure to do the same. He shared the importance of being a SAP certified and its global acceptance across the world. Mr. Ankur Sharma, post lunch, explained in detail various modules of SAP such as Financial, Logistics, HR management, and cross application modules. A case study-‘A Famous beverage Company’ was also discussed and mapped to SAP installation.

 

How SAP is connected to IT? This Question was very well answered by the module of SAP which can, not even make software but also websites of clients using SAP. Mr. Ankur Sharma demonstrated ABAP programs in detail on the second day of FDP. The only language SAP understands is ABAP, which is to be learned to become SAP Certified. He showed how ABAP works, how programs or forms are generated using ABAP, and how SAP can be customized according to the client’s requirements.

 

The FDP concluded with a Q&A session, where faculty members put forth queries regarding SAP training program and its importance in the market.
