Mr. Wan Gang- Minister of Science and Technology, People’s Republic of China visits Amity University

It was a memorable day for Amity fraternity when Mr. Wan Gang- Minister of Science and Technology, People’s Republic of China visited Amity University, Noida along with a high powered delegation.

 

The delegation comprised of 10 members- Mr. Chen Linhao, Deputy of Director-General, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Mr. Chen Jiachang, Deputy of Director-General, Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Dai Gang, Assistant Counsel of MOST, Personal Secretary of Minister, Mr. Ge Songxue, Counselor of Science & Technology, Embassy; Mr. Cao Jianye, Counselor of Science & Technology, Embassy, Mr. Ren Xiaoming , Second Secretary, Embassy; Ms. Jiang Shuhua, Principal Staff of MOST, Interpreter, Mr. Liu Xiang, Third Secretary, Embassy, Ms. Bi Liangliang, Third Secretary, Embassy and Mr. Zhang Jiameng, Safeguard of Minister.  

 

 Sharing his views during the occasion , Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group stressed that Indian and Chinese minds are brilliant and if they work together with synergized efforts they could create a new world. During the occasion, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan announced the launch “Amity and China Top Universities Science and Technology Network” under which Amity would collaborate with 51 China Universities  in the first phase. The seed money of US dollar one hundred thousand has been allotted to the network with immediate effect, which could be further increased from time to time. The network would facilitate collaborative research, joint scientific and technical publications, faculty exchange, students exchange and various other joint initiatives between Amity and China Universities.

 

Expressing his delight over visiting the first Indian University, Mr. Wan Gang- Minister of Science and Technology, People’s Republic of China applauded the state of the art infrastructure, young talented students and R&D oriented faculty members of Amity University. Hon’ble Minister stressed that China gives lot of importance to its relationship with India and corroborated the view point of Dr. Chauhan that the synergy of Indian brains and Chinese brains can lead to unparallel results. Hon’ble Minister outlined several areas where Amity University can collaborate with China Universities such as IT, Biotechnology, Bio- pharmacy, Medical, Bio- agriculture, Natural Sciences, Earthquake research, Disaster Management, Green energy, Sensor Technologies, Quantum Technologies, Stem Cell research and Geological Changes. Mr. Wan Gang offered his whole hearted support to “Amity and China Top Universities Science and Technology Network”

 

Mr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Rajasthan and Addl. President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) dwelt on the existing collaborations of Amity University with leading China Universities including Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Mr. Chauhan elaborated the future expansion plans of Amity with China Universities in the area of Joint Research Projects, Joint Ph.D programmes and Cultural exchanges.

 

The Hon’ble Minister and delegation took the tour of the magnificent Amity Campus and took special interest in Amity Innovation Incubator, Amity University Online (AUO) and  state of the art laboratories of Amity University.  The Minister applauded the contemporary facilities and extended full cooperation in strengthening the ties between two countries through Research and Education.
