Six Months Certificate Course in Photography, Videography and Editing’ for Officers of Armed Forces begin at Amity University
Six Months Duration ‘Certificate Course in Photography, Videography and Editing’ for JCOs/ ORs/ Equivalents of Army, Navy and Air Force was inaugurated on 2nd July 2013, at Amity University Uttar Pradesh. This is a unique course that seeks to equip Armed Forces personnel with an alternative career in media once they retire from the services. This course is being sponsored by Directorate General of Resettlement, Ministry of Defence. The course is being held at Amity School of Mass Communication (ASCO) under the aegis of Amity Institute of Education and Training (AIET).
Maj Gen Subash Bindra, VSM (Retd.), Senior Director, AIET, welcomed the participants of the course on behalf of Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President of Amity Education Group. Maj Gen Bindra said that participants’ aspirations associated with this course will be met. He further said that we have an excellent placement record for the other past courses and best efforts will be put forward towards this end for this particular course also.
Maj Gen K J Singh (Retd.), Group Vice Chancellor- Amity University and Executive Senior Vice President, Ritanand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) complemented the participants for choosing Amity University as Amity is the only University that provides holistic education where modernity blends with tradition. He said that the course is very much suited for those who are interested in learning photography, videography and editing. He also expressed happiness that the courses offered at Amity University for DGR courses are becoming very popular.
Prof Col. R K Dargan, Advisor, ASCO, said that the requirement for trained people in media industry is growing everyday and the industry needs technically qualified personnel who can handle modern equipments. Col. Dargan further said that ASCO is equipped with state of art studio and latest technology and assured the participants that they would go back fully qualified after the course.
Veteran media personality and CEO of Network 1 Mr. Arup Ghosh was chief guest at the inaugural function and in his address to the participants threw light on the various career options available in media.
