Delegation from University of Gloucestershire, UK visits Amity University Uttar Pradesh
Five member delegation from University of Gloucestershire, UK visited Amity University to mull over the potential areas of collaboration. The delegation members were Ms. Jacqueline Baines – Director of International Development; Dr. Tico Romao – Head of International Development; Ms. Claire Salmon – Faculty of Applies Science; Ms. Meghana Rajendra – International Development Advisor India and Mr. P.S. Krishna Kumar.
The delegation was received by Maj Gen R.K. Dhawan, Advisor – International Affairs Department, Amity and Wg. Cdr S.K. Goel, Dy Director - IAD.
While briefing about the University of Gloucestershire Ms. Jacqueline Baines – Director of International Development said that University of Gloucestershire was established in year 1834 as Teacher Training College and got University status in 2001. University has 3 campuses at Cheltenham and Gloucester. Around 10,000 students are studying Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses in three different faculty domains – Business Education, Media Art & Technology and Applied Sciences. Ms. Baines said that purpose of the visit is to explore possible areas of collaboration and developing linkages in areas of Arts, Media, Sciences and Technology.
Dr. Tico Romao – Head of International Development said that University of Gloucestershire offers four types of partnership options which include Articulation, Dual Award, Franchise and Validation. Dr. Romao said that University is currently having partnership with different universities in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Slovakia, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. Dr. Romao suggested that University of Gloucestershire and Amity may look forward to have student exchange program of short duration, filed trips, joint project work.
Dr Aditi Saxena from Amity School of Communication, Dr. Varun Sahai from Amity School of Fine Arts were present during the occasion.
