Smt. Salma Ansari visits Amity University along with 200 underprivileged students from Qila Public School, Chacha Nehru Public School & Al-Noor Public School at Aligarh to fulfill their dreams of quality education

It was memorable and historical day for Amity fraternity when Smt. Salma Ansari (Wife of Dr. Hamid Ansari, Vice President of India) visited Amity University, Sector- 125, Noida along with 200 underprivileged students (between the age group of 07 to 14 years) and 25 Teachers from Qila Public School, Chacha Nehru Public School & Al-Noor Public School at Aligarh, promoted and run by Al-Noor Charitable Society, under the patronage of Smt. Salma Ansari.

 

Smt. Ansari and students from Aligarh were welcomed by the children from AMITASHA (school for underprivileged girls) and ATULASHA (school for underprivileged boys) run by Amity Group. The children of AMITASHA and ATULASHA sung melodious and inspirational songs which impressed everyone present.

 

Welcoming the distinguished guest, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group eulogized the profuse social work Smt. Ansari has been doing specially for underprivileged sections of the country. Dr. Chauhan shared that in Amity, students are nurtured to become successful professionals as well as socially responsible citizens, contributing actively to the cause of the society. Dr. Chauhan shared that Amity has been teaching the underprivileged girls and boys through AMITASHA and ATULASHA schools respectively, which are run in Amity International Schools providing free of cost education including books, meals and uniforms to the students. There are, at present, over 1, 000 girls studying under AMITASHA and over 100 boys studying under ATULASHA, gearing up to lead the nation.

 

Addressing the gathering, Smt. Salma Ansari said that the future of the country lies in the grassroot level. Children from underprivileged sections of society have big dreams in their eyes; they have talent and requisite grit to fulfill those dreams; all they need is a strong foundation which could act as a facilitator. It is very important to provide them equal opportunities to achieve inclusive growth and development of the country. She pointed towards the crunch of funds to initiate and sustain such noble initiatives for the children from underprivileged sections of society and called upon the private participation to provide equal opportunities of growth and development to those children. She shared that, at present, over 1, 400 students are studying in Qila Public School, Chacha Nehru Public School & Al-Noor Public School and she is aiming to reach a total number of 2, 000 childern in near future. She revealed that some of the students who have studied from these schools, are successfully persuing their higher studies in Medical and Engineering Colleges.

 

Smt. Salma Ansari applauded the immense philanthropic work done by Dr. Ashok Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group and Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity International Schools in ameliorating the condition of underprivileged children and assimilating them into the mainstream through AMITASHA and ATULASHA projects.

 

Also present during the occasion were Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity International Schools, Mrs. Pooja Chauhan- Vice Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation, Mrs. Divya Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity School of Fine Arts and Amity School of Fashion Technology and other senior officials, Directors and HODs/HOIs of Amity University.

During the motivational visit, the students from Aligarh were taken around Amity campus to show them the large number of opportunities that exists in the field of higher education and also to motivate and encourage them to aim for the best in their lives. The students were given free school bags and were entertained through various games wherein they won lot of gifts.
