Amity Institute of Education, New Delhi organises National Seminar on the theme "Value Crisis in Existing Indian Society and Role of Education"

Amity Institute of Education, New Delhi - Grade A Accreditation from NAAC (An Institution of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation-RBEF) under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, RBEF organized a National Seminar o 14th march 2013 on the theme Value Crisis in Existing Indian Society and Role of Education”. The sub themes of the seminar were Inculcation of values in moral and social context, Nurturing the culture through value education, & Upholding human spirit & civilization through value based education. This Seminar is part of the Human Value Quarter being celebrated from 28th January, 2013 to 27th April, 2013.

The distinguished guests of the seminar were Mrs. Anita Satia- Director SCERT, Professor Daya Pant- Head of the Department of Psychology, NCERT and Dr. Rekha Ranade - Principal Amity International School, Saket. Dr. Ranjana Bhatia- Principal, Amity Institute of Education, Saket gave the welcome address and said that values form an important part of our personality .The essence of value education should be inculcated in students to build up the country’s ethos and values.

 

Mrs. Anita Satia shared her views that the present generation is much ahead of us in terms of knowledge, vision and experience. Education is not about transformation of knowledge but holistic development of a child which includes physical, mental & spiritual development. Dr. Daya Pant also expressed her views about values while relating to different subjects. Dr. Rekha Ranade spoke about the importance of values for students and nurturing it in schools.

 

This seminar was attended by ninety-two teacher trainees and seven faculty members of various colleges of Delhi and NCR in which students represented from six Universities. The Universities represented were GGSIP University, Delhi, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, Maharishi Dayanand University, Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad, Lingaya’s University, Faridabad, and Amity University, Uttar Pradesh.

 

The Participants presented the papers in two sessions on the themes of the seminar and three best presenters were also given prizes. The first prize was won by Ms. Barkha Gaur & Ms. Kritika Augustine of Kamal Institute of Higher Education (GGSIPU), the Second prize was won by Ms. Nisha Mishra of Lingaya’s University and Third prize went to Ms. Priyanka of Amity Institute of Education, Noida. The certificates were given to each participant. The seminar was very successful and students participated whole heartedly.
