Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon organises Junior School’s Annual Day

Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon celebrated its annual day on the 16 March, 2013.  The junior school’s annual day was held in the school premises.  The chief guests were Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, Speaker - Haryana Vidhan Sabha and Dr. Rajendra Pachauri,  Scientist from TERI.

Celebrating the year 2013 as the year of water conservation, the theme of the function was WATER, its origin, its importance in our lives and its conservation for the future.  The school band welcomed the audience while SurTarang – the 120 member strong orchestra entertained the assembled. Principal - Ms. Arti Chopra read out the welcome address followed by the 9th Annual Report. The cultural programme  performed by almost 1650  children from  classes KG – IV, was a visual feast with scintillating mythological dance drama which included  the dance of Lord Shiva  during ‘Ganga Avataran’ to dance by the children depicting the five major rivers of the world. A special song sung by the students of Amitasha, an initiative by Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools –  for the underprivileged girls ,also captured the imagination of the audience. There was a victory saga for students who had won accolades in inter school competitions. The anchors of the show kept up the tempo of the show throughout the function. An exhibition – Jaladhi was put up by the children of class V, showcasing the available resources of water and how to use this precious resource prudently.

 

The chief guests praised the children for all their efforts to have put up such an appropriate theme when the summer season was round the corner. The chief guest Mr. Kuldeep Sharma said that the students are the best hope for nation. They are a resource that has to save the other resources from getting extinct. Dr. Rajendra Pachauri the Presiding guest of the evening stressed on “Vasudev Kutumbkkam”. He further expressed his views that earth has abundance if we learn to share. They further  thanked the Principal , Ms . Arti Chopra for hosting such a wonderful show and bringing greater awareness among children about water. 

Chairperson Madam praised and blessed the students and also applauded the efforts of the principal Ms. Arti Chopra, teachers of Amity 46 in making the Annual Day a great success.
