Ayurveda Health Camp

Amity Institute of Education ,Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences &Amity Institute of Indian System of Medicine organized a one day Ayurveda Health Camp in association with All India Institute of Ayurveda at University campus, Sector 125, Noida

Inaugurating the camp, Dr. Kamini Dhiman, Gynecologist, All India Institute of Ayurveda discussed about the female health wellness through Ayurveda and said that the system of women is unique and complicated as well which needs to be maintained properly for a healthy living. She stressed that gynecological problems need to be timely diagnosed and cured to avoid any major problems in future. She pointed out that Ayurveda can be helpful in staying vital by identifying a balance between mind, body and soul. Dr. Dhiman apprised that the main cause of diseases is change in food and lifestyle pattern and an increase in lifestyle based diseases has been noted such as PCOD/PCOS in women. Decline in involvement of children in outdoor activities and games due to availability of technological gadgets at early age is another area of concern as this is inculcating bad lifestyle habits from primary stage itself. She suggested to follow proper lifestyle disciplines by practicing yoga regularly, avoid using gadgets for long hours, taking a break between work, attaining mental peace by involving in positive activities etc to curb the issue of health diseases.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. W Selvamurthy, President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation said that for India to become a global leader, it is essential for the population to remain healthy so that people can be productive in their outcome, subsequently benefitting the Nation. He further added that however, providing tertiary healthcare to 1.25 billion people is difficult and to offer health facility at such a large number, the country has to explore the Indian ancient medicine system. He emphasized upon synergizing the allopathic and Ayush system for a holistic healthcare solutions to all. Dr. Selvamurthy opined that there is a need to put scientific pedestrian to the Indian medicine system since earlier the Ayurveda remedies were not documented properly, hence caused a loss of treasured healthcare therapies.

Prof.(Dr.) Alka Muddgal, Head, Amity Institute of Education emphasized upon the importance of spreading the awareness about benefits of Ayurveda for a holistic well-being since Ayurveda is said to be a science of life. She averred that Ayush is ancient science of India which had been forgotten but with efforts of Government of India and some other organization have been bought back to revival mode.

During the inaugural, Dr Mangalagowri V Rao from All India Institute of Ayurveda demonstrated some Yoga exercises that can be incorporated in daily routine for a healthy living.

The camp was attended by more than 300 students, faculty members and staff of Amity University
