Workshop on Life Skills
With the Objectives of building self-confidence, encourage critical thinking, foster independence and develop social and interpersonal skills that enable the prospective teachers to cope with the demands of everyday life, a “Workshop on Life Skills”was organized by Amity Institute of Behavioural and Allied Sciences(AIBAS).
Dr Harish Kumar, HOI, AIBAS, welcomed the Guest speaker and reiterated that education should enable students to perform well not only well at school but also in life and for that Life skills is of utmost importance.
Renowned Educationist, Dr C B Mishra, Principal Presidium School Ashok Vihar, conducted the workshop to a group of 150 students . Dr. Mishra addressed the needs of children, motivated them and provided them insights to cognitive, emotional, social and self-management skills for life adjustments. He stressed on Focus and Self-control, Making connections, Taking on challenges, Perspective Taking and Self- directed and Engaged Learning. He guided the students to maintain a positive, emotional, social, and mental health .
He concluded with the fact that the time span between birth and death is how life is defined and Life Skills is the ability to adapt and have a positive behaviour that would enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
