Renowned Punjabi Singer Guru Randhawa enthralls Amitians with high spirited performance during Ms. And Mr. Fresher of Amity University 2017
Ms.Arshiya Singh and Mr. Harshdeep Singh after numerous rounds of talent displayshave been crowned as Ms. And Mr. Fresher 2017 of Amity University Uttar Pradeshat University Noida Campus, Sector 125
26 participants were selected after the first round held in September 2017 wherein130 students from 65 Institutes of Amity competed to be part of the finalscontestants. The Grand Finale contestants were adjudged on the basis ofAttitude, Grooming, Soft Skills, General Awareness and Specific Talent byjudges.
Mrs.Kanika Raheja Mrs. West Asia Universe 2016; Ms. Nandita Kumar, ManagingDirector, 360 Degree Media Solutions & ?Strategy Consultant at iTV Network;Ms. Sonia Swaroop, Co-Founder, CEO at Matchmytalent, goDiscover and FounderDirector at White Canvas Films; Mr. Gaurav Pahwa, Director at Gateway ToTheatres; Ms. Shaina Pahwa, Gateway To Theatres and Ms. Piyali Dasgupta,Educator, Brand Curator & Creative Arts Practitioner judged the final roundcompetition.
Mr.Rohan Shrestha and Ms. Phub Lhamo Sherpa were declared as First Runners Up. Mr.Rhythm Harjai and Ms. Shivangi Julka won Second Runners Up prize.
Thetwilight commenced with the powerful musical performance by Genesis- The RockBand, soulful musical performance by Acoustic Duos followed by energetic Danceperformances by Inertia, Tatva and Cezanne- students dance groups
ActorManjot Singh surprised the crowd with his entry andwhile interacting with them, he expressed his desire to be a part of the AmityUniversity as a student.
Thegala event concluded with enthralling performance by Renowned Punjabi Star SingerGuru Randhawa who made the crowd groove to his foot-tapping songs including“Tennu suit suit karda”, “Ban meri Rani”, “High rated gabru” and “Patola”amongst others
Duringthe competition, the contestants had to prove their mettle in rigorous threerounds including Introductory Round, Question & Answer Round and Ramp Walk.
Ms.Fresher Amity University 2017, Arshiya Singh, joyfullythanked her institute and judges for bestowing the title upon her. A trainedKathak Dancer, Arshiya, impressed the judges with her confidence, smartness andcommunication skills. She said that she will soon be representing India in adance competition to be held in Europe and hope to make the country proud bywinning there as well.
Mr.Fresher Amity University 2017, Harshdeep Singhexpressed his gratitude and said that such competition boosts the confidence offirst year students and motivates them to perform well in future competitionsas well.
Sharinghis joy and exuberation, Raghav Goel, student of Amity Law School said that hehad eagerly waited for the finale and was present to cheer his friends. Hefurther added that since all the contesting students were very talented, it hadbeen really tough for the judges to decide the winners.
Adie hard fan of Guru Randhawa, Nishtha Srivastava, student of Amity School ofEngineering and Technology said that it’s a dream come true for her to listento the Punjabi pop sensation and watch him perform live at Amity.
