Essay & Debate Competition cum National Workshop on “The Role of Communal Harmony for Sustainable Development of the Indian Society”
Amity School of Natural Resourcesa nd Sustainable Development (ASNRSD) in collaboration with National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Govt. of India organized an Essay & Debate Competition cum National Workshop on “The Role of Communal Harmony for Sustainable Development of the Indian Society” at Amity University Noida Campus.
The objective of the workshop was to recognize the significance of harmony among different communities to work in unity for the Sustainable Development of the Indian Society and promoting National Integration.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Apoorvanand, Dept.of Hindi, Faculty of Arts, University of Delhi, New Delhi said that our Nation is on a path of progress but there are many social issues that still needs to be addressed. People are required to progress in a civilized way. He emphasized that even science theories believe that a Country which has harmonious ecosystem for flora and fauna tend to progress better. Prof Apoorvanand opined that India is known for its cultural diversity and people should live in communal harmony for country to develop in a right way.
Prof.(Dr.) Javed Ahmad, Professor(Retd), Dept. of Botany, Jamia Hamdard University and President, National Environment Science Academy said that communal harmony could be attained through abolition of poverty and treating human beings with respect and dignity.
Dr. S P Singh, Amity School ofNatural Resources and Sustainable Development called upon the students to realize their social responsibility and contribute significantly for Nation building.
Moret han 40 students participated in Essay competition and more than 70 students participated in Debate Competition.
Mr.Vaibhav Mathur from Amity Institute of Social Sciences won the first prize in Debate Competition. Mr. Ravi Shankar from Amity Institute of Foreign Languages bagged the first position in Essay Competition.
