Apeejay Satya University,Sohna wins KREATIV '18 – Inter Institute Fashion Design Competition at Amity University
Alluring the twilight of Amity Youth Fest 2018, AmitySchool of Fashion Technology organized KREATIV '18 – an Inter Institute FashionDesign Competition on theme ‘Revival of Traditional India- an Unsaid Story’ atUniversity Campus Sector 125 Noida, wherein the team from Apeejay SatyaUniversity, Sohna was declared the Winners.
The models from Apeejay Satya University, Sohna broughtalive the richness of royal Indian wear with zari work, bandhani and banarasiprint in their collection.
The competition witnessed the participation of 09colleges/universities from Delhi NCR including Pearl Academy; Footwear Design& Development Institute; Apeejay Institute of Design; Satyam FashionInstitute; Apparel Training & Design Centre; SNDT Noida; World DesignUniversity and Lisaa Institute of Design amongst others.
The first team to walk the ramp was Apeejay Institute ofDesign, Noida and models displayed mix of brocades, velvet and silks,aesthetically accessorized with tassels, pom-poms and bandhani turban.
Team from Apparel Training & Design Centre revived thetraditional India with beautiful use of khadi cotton and cotton fabric withKalamkari and Ikat prints.
The students of Satyam Fashion Institute sashayed down theramp innovatively clad in “Indus Valley Art” showcasing the Bronze age throughtheir attires
The teams were adjudged by Fashion Designer Mr. AshishBatra; Fashion Blogger and Model, Ms. Sakshi Gupta; Image Consultant andDesigner Ms. Shilpa Sahni and Academician Ms Honey.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, FounderPresident- Amity Education Group said that fashion shows provide platformto creative and budding designers to display their art and also provide anequal opportunity to budding models to showcase their talent and boost theirconfidence. He stressed that such competitions open vast opportunities foryoung designers & models who present their creativity in front of Doyensfrom fashion industry
The designs and costumes were designed on the basis ofcreativity of garments, accessories, props etc, innovation behind the ideas,aesthetic appeal, time management and co-ordination and choreography
During the occasion, students of Amity School of FashionTechnology showcased Design Collection based on Gothic Tales, Autumn Gold,Rebellious Queens, Blanch Luminous, Red Carpet and Maulin Rouge.
Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity InternationalSchools; Mrs Divya Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity School of Fashion Technology,Fine Arts and Performing Arts; Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity UniversityRajasthan and Dr. (Prof.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity UniversityUttar Pradesh were also present during the occasion.
