Prof. Robert Pike- Pro Vice-Chancellor, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia visits Amity to discuss and deliberate upon the areas for potential mutual collaboration

Prof.Robert Pike- Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head, College ofScience, Health and Engineering, College of Science, Health and Engineering, LaTrobe University, Melbourne and Dr. John Moses- Professor of OrganicChemistry, College of Science, Health and Engineering, La Trobe University visitedAmity University, Noida to discuss and deliberate upon various areas ofpotential collaboration between the two Universities of great repute.

The distinguished members were welcomed by Dr W Selvamurthy- President, Amity Science Technology and InnovationFoundation.

Addressing the gathering and outlining various areas of research beingundertaken at La Trobe University, Prof.Robert Pike shared that lot ofwork is going on in the area of “Food Production”, “Disability and Prosthetics”,“Nursing”, “Water Quality and Ecology”, “Neuro Science”, “Cancer” and expressedhis desire to initiate meaningful, long term and fruitful collaborations withAmity in the identified areas in near future.

Giving a brief presentation on Amity, Dr W Selvamurthy stressed that Amity is keen to work with La TrobeUniversity and expressed that there is a tremendous possibility of synergybetween the two Institutions in academics as well as research especially inareas such as Co-guide, Dissertation, Student Mobility both ways and jointDiplomas, Degrees and Certificates

During the discussion, Prof.Abhay Bansal- Joint Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology briefedthat currently, more than 6,000 students are studying Engineering in Amity and proposedto conduct joint Consultancy and Research projects, joint Workshops andinitiate dual Degree Programmes which will immensely benefit the students ofboth the University. He shared that Amity School of Engineering and Technologyis looking forward to student mobility in large numbers and even suggested Prof.Pike to institute “Special Scholarships” for Amity students to encourage andmotivate them. He also proposed the launch of Joint Centre of Excellence in CyberSecurity since, Amity is offering a programme in Network Security and studentsare practically working on various aspects of Cyber Security.
