Amity School of Natural Resources and Sustainable Development (ASNRSD), Amity University, Noida has organized the training course for Forest Range Officers Trainees, on “Climate Change: Issues and Challenges with Specific Reference to Forestry Sector”

Amity School of Natural Resources andSustainable Development (ASNRSD), Amity University, Noida has organized thetraining course for Forest Range Officers Trainees, on “Climate Change:Issues and Challenges with Specific Reference to Forestry Sector” from 1st– 4th November, 2017 sponsored by Uttarakhand Forestry TrainingAcademy (UFTA), Haldwani, Uttarakhand, with following objectives:

·        Provide overallunderstanding of the concept, issues and challenges of the climate change.

·        Develop skill ofparticipants for processing, formulation and implementation of forestryprojects for carbon marketing under strategies of mitigating impact of climatechanges.

·        Develop betterunderstanding of policy and legal framework, negotiations related at nationaland international level.

·        Generateawareness for carrying out best practices for mitigation and adaptationmeasures for climate change.

Thirty eight( 38) Forest Range OfficersTrainees with two( 02)  faculty membersof UFTA, Haldawni attended the course.

 Dr. D.K. Sinha, (IFS) Inspector General ofForests, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change was the chiefGuest of the inaugural sessions.  Dr.Kapil K. Joshi, Director, Uttarakhand Forestry Training Academy along with Dr. S.P. Singh, IFS (Retd.), Director, ASNRSD ShriJ. C. Kala IFS (Retd.), Advisor, Amity Institute of Global Warming andEcological Studies and Dr. D. S. Rathore Advisor, Amity School of ForeignLanguages inaugurated the Training programme. Dr S. P. Singh  read the Messageof Hon’ble Founder Presidents and coveyed his blessings for the success fortraining program.   The welcomeaddress and brief shcedule of the training was also delivered by Dr S.P.Singh. Dr D. K. Sinha, Chief Guest in his deliberations appreciated the design ofthis course on the burning issue of climate change for field officials, havingcrucial role in mitigating the adverse impact of climate change throughforestry sector and opined to organize more such courses in near future for the forest officials of various state government in the environment ofeducational institution of Amity University. It would also provide anadditional opportunities to young officials to explore the possibility ofpersuasions of higher studies in near future. 

 

 The studymaterial in the form of book on ClimateChange: Issues and Challenges with Specific Reference to Forestry Sector” for the participants was released by the hon’ble ChiefGuest and other senior digintories  ondice. during the inaugral.

Prof. ASNRSD, Amity University were  the resources person for this trainingprogramme.

The valedictory functions was presided Mr J. C. Kala ,followed by distribution of certificates and vote of thanks.
